- Engineer Senior OR Engineer 2 Graduate
Description
This position exists to provide traffic analysis to estimate work zone traffic impacts in the Metro district so designers can make decisions regarding staging, traffic control plan development and mitigation. This position also assists in the review of modeling analyses developed by consultants and local agencies as well as development.
This position is located at district headquarters in Roseville and has the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule that includes in office and teleworking time. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
Please note: This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes at the same time, Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate. Only one position will be filled; the final class and starting salary of this position is dependent on the successful applicant’s qualifications. Requirements
Engineer Senior Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through Comity (Reciprocity). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
Engineer 2 Graduate Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
- A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Two years post-graduate civil engineering work.
Education: A master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a ABET accredited college or university substitutes for one year of post-graduate civil engineering work.
Engineer Senior & Engineer 2 Graduate resumes must also clearly demonstrate: Knowledge and application of traffic engineering and traffic safety principles and standards.
